1.     Suffolk County Community College

Suffolk County Community College is a public community college in Selden, New York with campuses in Brentwood, Riverhead, and Selden. This college accepts applicants with a minimum of 2.5 GPA which makes it one of the colleges that accept low GPA in New York.

The college offers undergraduate majors in nursing, business administration, social science, accounting, and many others. There are also other financial aid opportunities available in the college that can help you attend college without paying tuition.

2.     Metropolitan College of New York

This is a private college in New York City with an acceptance rate of 77%. The college offers accelerated programs at undergraduate and graduate study levels. Applicants need a minimum of 2.5 GPA to get into Metropolitan College of New York.

3.     Five Towns College

Five Towns College is the alma mater of Jon Bellion, Adman Levine, Chrisette Michele, and many others. It is a private college in New York that is accepting candidates with low GPA. The college has strength in music, media, and performing arts.

Five Towns College has an acceptance rate of 46% which is slightly on the low side but if you can submit a strong application, your chances will definitely increase. There is a wide range of undergraduate programs across various fields offered at Five Towns College.  

4.     Maria College of Albany

Here is another college in New York that accepts low GPA. Maria College is a private, non-profit college in Albany, NY. If you prefer going to a small school with a very few population and a small class size, then Maria College of Albany is the place for you.

Requirements for applicants include a high school transcript and a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0.

5.     Island Drafting and Technical Institute

Island Drafting and Technical Institute offer 2-year degree programs in drafting and technical academic programs. This private college is designed to equip you with hands-on skills and experience to prepare you for the workforce.

Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 and it uses an open admission policy.

6.     State University of New York, Morrisville

SUNY Morrisville as it is commonly referred to is a public college with campuses in Morrisville and Norwich. The acceptance rate of the school is 81% which means there is a low competition which makes it perfect for students with low GPA.

Applicants for SUNY Morrisville are required to have a high school GPA of 70 required. According to US News, applicants admitted to SUNY Morrisville have an SAT score between 900 and 1120 or an ACT score of 18 and 25.

7.     Nyack College  

Also known as Alliance University, Nyack College is a private Christian college and one of the colleges that accept low GPA in New York. The college has a 100% acceptance rate and is a good option for college applications with low GPA.

The minimum GPA requirement from Nyack College is 2.88 GPA on a scale of 4.0 and a minimum score of 898 on the SAT or 21 on the ACT.

8.     Berkeley College

Last but not least is Berkeley College with a 100% acceptance rate and a minimum GPA requirement of 2.66 or higher. The college is a for-profit private type with campuses in New York, New Jersey, and online. There are graduate, undergraduate, and certificate programs offered at Berkeley.
