How to get a JD Degree in 2 Years Online

It’s not all about learning how to get a JD degree in 2 years online, the question is, are you ready to take out a 3 to 4-year degree and compile it into 2 years without missing any courses? Let me explain better, an accelerated degree is not easy, not even in the Juris Doctor program, so these universities that provide accelerated degrees, will still give you all the courses a traditional Student will offer, but you’ll offer these courses within 2 years.

This sounds good based on “FAST DEGREE,” but are you willing to put in the work to successfully come out of it? I’m not saying it’s not possible.

The good news is that the reputable schools we will list shortly have ways of making sure you still follow through regardless of how rigorous these 2-year degrees seem. And even if you don’t want to follow through with these 2-year programs, you can still try accredited law schools in California or even one of the best law schools in the world.

JD Degree in 2 Years Online

There is no JD degree in 2 years online, or we have not heard of any yet. I believe one of the reasons for this is that Online JD Degrees just started a few years ago (but there have been on-campus JD degrees for decades), so we need to give them more time to also start a 2-year program online.

It’s either the program is an accelerated degree offered on-campus, or it’s a 3 to a 4-year degree offered online.

So, what we did is divide them into 2 sessions, the first session has to deal with a 2-year JD Degree from reputable universities, then the second session has to do with online Juris Doctor degrees offered within 3 to 4 years.

1. The University of Arizona

The University of Arizona provided its 2-year JD Degree in a way that students will still fulfill all the same requirements to earn the JD degree as those on the traditional three-year path. That means you will still take all the courses a standard 3-year traditional student will take.

You’ll also complete a summer externship, and this gives you the opportunity to earn the exact degree award other traditional students will earn.

Likewise, since it’s coming from the University of Arizona, you should believe they will provide the best education to you, for the record, they have a 100-year history of graduating successful lawyers and leaders. Furthermore, they were ranked 45th best law school in the world, 13th best legal writing school, and many more according to the U.S. News and World Report.

2. Suffolk University

Just like most JD degrees in 2 years, you need to be strongly self-motivated to enroll in it. The same applies here because you’ll be learning a 3-year degree within 2 years, without skipping a course, or credit hours.

That means a lot of work is involved, and due to how intense this program is, Suffolk University is very selective in how they choose their students. Admission is seriously limited.

3. Albany Law School

Albany Law School also provides a competitive 2-year JD degree program for highly motivated students, which also enables them to skip the tuition fee of the third year, and enter the workforce earlier.

4. The University of Washington – School of Law

The Accelerated J.D. Program from the University of Washington will enable you to complete your legal education in 8 quarters instead of the typical 9 quarters in 3 academic years. Also expect to have a more fixed schedule, but when you successfully graduate, you’ll be ranked in your entering class along with traditional students.

5. University at Buffalo – School of Law

University at Buffalo provides a totally unique Two-Year Juris Doctor for Internationally Trained Lawyers. This means, those who have already earned a law degree from non-U.S. jurisdiction (a J.D. or its equivalent), might be eligible for a 2-year JD degree in their school.

This gives students the opportunity to partake in the New York State Bar. Also, the program is very competitive, and you’re encouraged to take the LSAT (not compulsory).

Online JD Degree

Now we want to list the online JD programs that can be completed within 3 to 4 years. Another thing we also focused on is to make sure they are very affordable.

6. Abraham Lincoln University

Abraham Lincoln University provides an online JD degree that is structured so that it can be convenient for Master’s Degree students. In fact, many of their students work full-time and still make it for online classes.

7. Syracuse University

This is one of the online JD degrees that is approved by the American Bar Association. Syracuse University also made its JDinteractive (a name for their online program) to be as excellent as the one taught to their traditional students.

Furthermore, you will earn an M.B.A. as you further your law degree through their online joint J.D./M.B.A. degree program.

8. Concord Law School

Concord Law School provides a JD degree in 4 years online and is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California.

The school also provides financial support whether through federal financial aid, private lending programs, military financial aid, and a monthly plan.

Moreover, if you’re a Federal employee and state government employee in California, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Utah, and Virginia you’re eligible to receive a 10% tuition reduction.

9. St. Mary’s University

St. Mary’s University recently announced that it is the first law school in the nation to approve offering a fully online J.D. program that is accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Also, this University has had a great reputation in legal education starting when it was established in 1927.

Conclusion

As I said earlier, there is no JD degree in 2 years online, and we believe that within a short time, we will start seeing schools that will start offering these 2-year programs online.
