The Beverly J Smith scholarship is a vintage scholarship, with a lot of history.
In 1881 Marion Talbot and Ellen Swallow Richards invited 15 alumnae from 8 colleges to a meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
The purpose of this meeting was to create an organization of women college graduates that would assist women in finding greater opportunities to use their education, as well as promoting and assisting other women’s college attendance.

The program is open to female students who are enrolled as a full-time student and attending an accredited college or university.
The winners of the Beverly J. Smith Memorial Scholarship will get up to $2,500 award toward their education.
The applicants must be citizens of the United States of America residing in Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry County.
The scholarship also favour students applicants with an apparent financial need, and also students who have shown reasonable academic achievements.
Students who has 3.4 CGPA and above would stand more chance of being awarded this scholarship.
Applicants must be a woman who who has demonstrated extreme financial need, and already enrolled in a four year accredited university or college at the time of application.
The Harrisburg Branch of AAUW Award is awarding the scholarship in the amount of $2,500.
Note: This scholarship is not renewable.
The scholarship recipient may also receive Branch support to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.
