1. Soule Scholarship

This is one of the scholarships for black students offered by the SOULE Foundation, mostly for minority high school graduates who are now enrolled in a U.S. post-secondary institution.

2. Ron Brown Scholarship

This is also one of the many scholarships for black students offered by the Ron Brown Scholar Program. The program is open to Black or African-American U.S. citizens, or permanent residents who are currently high school seniors or graduates.

Furthermore, if you have an interest in global entrepreneurship and/or community engagement, consider applying for this scholarship. They are dedicated to supporting community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans.

The scholarship awards $40,000 scholarships to 45-50 students each year, offering $10,000 per year, awarded over the course of a four-year undergraduate career. Those granted will have to attend accredited four-year universities in the United States.

To apply, you must submit two 500-word essays, transcripts, and two letters of recommendation.

3. José E. Serrano Educational Partnership Program with Minority Serving Institutions

This scholarship is offered by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), mostly open to those majoring in a STEM field at any minority-serving institution.

Serving Institutions such as Hispanic Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaskan-Native Serving Institutions, and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions.

Recipients of the award are selected to partake in two internships during the summers, all-expenses-paid. The amount awarded totals around $45,000, including costs for travel, conferences, allowances, and more.

The scholarship is offered by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), an organization with the goal of better understanding the natural world and helping protect it.

4. “Scholar Dollars” Essay Scholarship for Black Students

This scholarship for black students are open to high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student currently or planning to enroll in a postsecondary school. Each year, the scholarship offers a $2,500 award to the applicants.

Preferences are usually given to underrepresented minorities and those pursuing design and engineering-related fields. The scholarship is funded by Chairish, an online, vintage furniture, art, and home accessories platform.

6. APF Queen-Nellie Evans Scholarship

This scholarship for black students is open to minority graduate students who have financial needs and demonstrate a dedication to improving social disparities. A total amount of $4,000 is awarded to eligible applicants.

This scholarship is offered by American Psychological Foundation, for graduate students from an underrepresented minority group who are committed to improving communities of color, particularly African descent.

The scholarship is also open to minority graduate students enrolled in accredited masters or doctoral programs. The American Psychological Foundation is a grant-making organization that funds early career psychologists and graduate students.

Each year, selected applicants are awarded this scholarship to help pay for their graduate studies with a focus on improving the disparity and issues that negatively impact communities of color.

7. Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship Program

This scholarship is open to seniors with documented financial needs who attend an accredited HBCU with a minimum GPA of 3.5. A total amount of  $10,000 is awarded to applicants.

This is one of the scholarships for black students that understand the importance and responsibility of supporting HBCU scholars who demonstrate their passion for education.

Each year, this scholarship, out of the many scholarships for black students offers need-based and merit scholarships to outstanding and qualified Black students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.

The scholarships they award, range in award amount, academic interests, and age, open to graduating high school seniors and early those early in their professional careers.

To qualify, you must be a member of the NAACP, African-American, or a person of color. You will also need to be currently enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Finally, you will need to be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate student, or graduate student for applicable scholarships. You also need to have a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 system.

10. National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame General Scholarship

The Hall of Fame is one of the scholarships for black students committed to the educational growth and development of African-American undergraduate and graduate students attending institutions of higher learning.

This scholarship offers financial aid through gifts provided by its sponsors. An award of $1000 and above (they vary) is usually awarded to students that qualify.
