The advancement of women into leadership roles in aviation is essential to driving cultural change. To help elevate women into key roles, Women in Aviation International is offering a new professional development program purposefully designed for women working in the aviation and aerospace industry.
Aviation’s current gender balance, particularly in leadership, limits the industry’s ability to attract the best possible talent. WAI is committed to changing organizational and cultural norms and promoting environments where women feel welcomed, are valued, and can be successful. Without acting now, aviation faces a shrinking talent pool and a loss of access to the innovation, creativity, and risk management that more diverse leadership provides.
Program Description: Rising women leaders in the aviation and aerospace industry are encouraged to apply to attend Women in Leadership: A Program for Emerging Leaders, a two-day, on-campus professional development program hosted by Women in Aviation International, conducted by Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education, with generous funding provided by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.
Topics Covered: This intensive two-day, on-campus program will be based on the curriculum offered through Harvard University’s Women’s Leadership Institute and will be tailored to the unique challenges women face in the aviation and aerospace industry.

A third session will augment on-campus learning with a remote leadership coaching session. After the completion of the in-person course, Harvard faculty members will meet with participants to discuss how they have applied their newfound skills. Participants will earn a special certificate awarded by Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education to add to their professional resumes.
Who Should Apply: This program is ideal for high-performing women who are Women in Aviation International members with 5 to 10 years of experience and the interest to advance their careers in leadership roles in the aviation and aerospace industry.
