There are less than a dozen theology scholarships in Canada for international students. As the program isn’t a popular one, financial aid opportunities for it are quite few. However, we at Study Abroad Nations decided to create this post to help people who are interested in theological studies learn about the available scholarship opportunities and facilitate their admission.
Canada is one of the top three education hubs in the world and has the highest number of international students. Annually, this country throws its doors open to welcome students from all over to world to enjoin in her quality education.
Canadian higher institutions are more popular in offering popular programs in the Sciences, Arts, and Business disciplines. Due to the prestige Canadian higher institutions have in these disciplines, a lot of people flock there annually to partake in it.
Theology is a discipline of the Arts and is related to the Christian religion. Those who have an interest in becoming church leaders must take this program to gain an understanding of the Christian faith.
“Theology is an academic discipline that systematically studies the nature of the divine, and more broadly, of religious belief” _source – Wikipedia
In simple words, theology is the study of the nature of God and religious beliefs. It is taught as an academic discipline in universities and seminaries.
Some Canadian universities offer such programs if you are looking to study it in a university and there are also scholarships available to aid your tuition.
These scholarships stretch to students who want to study theology either in a university or seminary, the only thing being that you must be an international student in Canada.
The scholarships are provided by parishes, charity foundations, and organizations, and other Christian bodies. This is to encourage more people to come into the field and make theology as popular as the other fields of study.

What Can I Do with a Degree in Theology?
Most people do not actually know what to do with a degree in theology since it isn’t popular. I do not blame the population that does not know about this anyway, but, here is what you can do with a Bachelor’s degree in theology…
- Youth minister
- Social worker
- Seminary professor
- Missionary
- Catholic priest or pastor
- K-12 teacher
You may also want to do a double-major in theology and apply what you have learned to other disciplines like psychology, law, business, nursing, and another field.
This is enough for you to understand what theology is about and since it’s your passion you should have already an understanding of the field.
With no further ado, let’s now dive into the main subject matter that is even of more importance. This scholarship can help you study and earn a theology degree without paying a dime and you get to study the course as an international student in Canada.
