Basic Requirements for the University of Toronto Scholarship Programs

This is a general requirement that students need to possess for any scholarship program at the University of Toronto although some of the scholarship programs may require more.

University of Toronto Admission Requirements

GPA Requirement

The minimum GPA requirement for an undergraduate applicant of the University of Toronto is 3.6 while for graduate students the minimum GPA requirement is 3.0.

Standardized Tests

Aspirants, both international and national, whose first language is not English language will take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) are standardized tests that assess the English writing and speaking skills of an aspirant.

The GMAT and GRE are also standardized tests taken by graduate aspirants seeking to begin to a graduate study at the University of Toronto. Graduate aspirants may choose to take the GMAT or GRE exam, it is an admission requirement that cannot be waived off regardless of academic background.

The minimum score required for the GMAT by the University of Toronto is 550 while the GRE is 1160.

The TOEFL/IELTS are to be taken by international undergraduate and graduate students(in some cases) whose first language is not English or are from non-English speaking countries.

The minimum score required for the TOEFL computer-based test is 100 + 22 on writing while the paper=based test is 89-99 + 22 on writing. The minimum required score for the IELTS is 6.5.

However, the GMAT/GRE is to be taken only by aspiring graduate students, both domestic and international who want to enroll in a graduate degree program at the University of Ontario.

Study Permit (for international students)

To study in Canada as an international student, applicants will need to apply for and get their study permit to allow them to stay and study at the University of Toronto.
